One of one. Once it's gone, it's gone.

American alligator head from the Herbarium Collection.

Inspired by antique botanical journals and museum collections, The Archivist transforms a reclaimed alligator skull into a sculptural study of nature's quiet beauty. Delicate sepia florals, woodland botanicals, and metallic gold accents create a timeless piece that feels equally at home in a curiosity cabinet, modern library, or thoughtfully collected interior.

One of a kind. Hand-finished. Created with intention.

Taxidermy head is fully intact.
Measures 6-7" in length and 3.75" wide.
Each piece is unique and you will receive one similar to this.
If you'd like to see the exact one you are buying just ask when purchasing and I'll send a picture!

A soothing but lengthy process that I enjoy to make these bones into art pieces for your home/shop/wherever.

(All parts are acquired through ethical and licensed sources - no animals are harmed for the purpose of my art.)

******************************
I have always had a fascination with all parts of animals and nature. Even as a quiet little introverted child I would poke around in my backyard and the woods behind the house for feathers, bones, signs left by creatures of the forest.

On a visit to our local farmer’s market I found a crafter who was selling decoupage oyster and clam shells. She had taken this throw away item from nature and turned it into this little piece of art. I was inspired to remake some of the bones I had collected over the years into works of art and off I went! After using the pieces I have foraged I began sourcing bones from other folks who use ethical means to obtain them.
